STARmed Fibroid RFA

The new incisionless, scarless, uterine preserving technique reduces your fibroid symptoms without open surgery.

STARmed Fibroid Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

Non-surgical, minimally invasive alternative

STARmed radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has been around for over 20 years. Its efficacy has been proven in many body organs, including the thyroid, liver, biliary system, kidneys, and bone.

Now, STARmed has extended its technology to treat uterine fibroids, introducing a new, less invasive alternative to help women in pain.

How does STARmed Fibroid RFA work?

A targeted solution for fibroids

STARmed Fibroid RFA works by applying controlled heat directly into the fibroid without hurting the surrounding healthy uterine tissues.

The thermal energy causes the fibroid to shrink over time and the degenerated tissue will flow through your body naturally as waste over a few months.

5 Steps to Shrink Your Fibroids

image

Your physician will first start by administering regional sedation or anesthesia to ensure you are comfortable during the treatment.

image

Your doctor will then use ultrasound examination through the vagina to locate your fibroids.

image

Once your physician identifies the safest path to the target fibroid, he/she will insert the STARmed RF Electrode into your fibroid

With the VIVA RF Generator, your physician will allow a controlled amount of energy to flow through the electrode, ablating (burning) the fibroid tissue.

Your physician will repeat this process until every targeted fibroid is treated. Over time, the fibroid will shrink, and the degenerated tissue will get absorbed by your body naturally.
